The Gamer's Last Play

"Mr. Knight." Benjamin stood by the door, his face a mask of formal respect. I walked over and placed the unlimited black card before him. His breath caught instantly, the greed in his eyes igniting like a spark. "This is..." "For you." My voice remained calm. He almost snatched the black card from me, his fingertips trembling. "Thank you, Mr. Knight!" Benjamin carefully slipped the card into his inner pocket, completely unaware of the coldness lurking in my eyes. In my past life, it was this card—and his face—that left me to die in the basement. My phone rang. It was Matthew. "Mr. Knight?" "I want a divorce," I said, walking to the window and watching Olga's car pull up outside. "With Olga. Now. Immediately."

Chapter 1 of "The Gamer's Last Play"

I stared at the black card in my palm, coldly glowing; my knuckles whitened. This is the system's reward. After completing the strategy mission, I gave up the chance to make a wish in exchange for this unlimited limit black card. In my past life, it was this card that destroyed my last shred of dignity. A sound from the foyer reached my ears; Benjamin was dressed in a perfectly fitted suit, his hair neatly combed, bending down to change his shoes. He was Olga Salk's male assistant, the very man who squandered ten million of mine in the previous life and indirectly caused my death. I took a deep breath, pushing down the flood of hatred and fear in my chest, and stepped forward. When Benjamin saw me, a faint flicker of panic crossed his eyes, but he quickly regained his respectful composure. "Mr. Knight, you're back." He smiled as he greeted me, his tone deliberately familiar. I didn't reply; I just pushed the black card in front of him. Benjamin froze, his eyes locking onto the black card, greed almost spilling over. "This is..." he asked cautiously, reaching out but not daring to touch it. "For you." My tone was flat, emotionless, "Use it however you want." Benjamin's eyes lit up immediately. He grabbed the black card, his fingertips trembling. He probably thought I'd been spoiled by Olga Salk, casually handing out such treasures. Only I knew this wasn't a gift—it was a death warrant. In my past life, I only realized the black card was missing after Benjamin spent ten million. Furious, I tracked him down and slapped him hard. That moment fully ignited Olga Salk's fury. Without any distinction or reason, she ordered someone to lock me in the basement. The basement was dark, damp, and utterly without light. My claustrophobia flared instantly, fear washing over me like a tidal wave. I thrashed wildly in the darkness, banging my head until it bled, and eventually, I smashed myself to death against the wall. Just before I died, I heard Olga Salk's cold voice outside the door, asking Benjamin if he was alright. "Thank you, Mr. Knight!" Benjamin's voice pulled me back. He carefully slipped the black card into his inner pocket. "I won't betray your trust." I tugged at the corner of my mouth without looking at him again, then turned and walked into the study. The moment the door shut, the calm on my face completely crumbled. Divorce. It had to be divorce. I've had enough of these ten years. I took out my phone, found an old, dusty number, and dialed. The call connected swiftly, and a steady male voice came through: "Mr. Knight?" "Matthew, I want a divorce, with Olga Salk." I said sharply, "Please come over—we need to discuss the division of assets." Matthew is a top divorce lawyer. After I died in my past life, he was entrusted by a distant relative to handle my estate. "Alright, I'll be at your place in half an hour." Matthew didn't ask any questions and agreed without hesitation. I hung up, leaned back in my chair, and closed my eyes.
